
Amy Cohen
Born and raised in a small town in Ohio, Amy brings a bit of that Midwest
courtesy and customer service to her practice, along with some downtown
savvy gained through work experience.
Amy has been a member of the State Bar of California for 18 years and a
continuing member of the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association since 2007.
She served as the President of the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association
in 2014, during which time the Association celebrated its 10th anniversary. Prior to her presidency, Amy served on the Board of Trustees
as Secretary (2009-2012), President-Elect (2013) and Immediate Past President.
Amy is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and American
Bar Association.
In 2012, Amy was selected by the JCI Santa Clarita Valley as one of the
40 Under 40 honorees and in 2014, she was nominated for the San Fernando
Valley Business Journal’s Trusted Advisor Award. In 2015, she was
selected as a Top Attorney by Pasadena Magazine and in November 2015,
she received the Lawyer of the Year award presented by the Santa Clarita
Valley Bar Association.
She has been honored with being named as a
Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2013 and 2014, and was named a Southern California Super Lawyer in
2017, 2018, and 2019. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding
lawyers who have attached a high degree of peer recognition and professional
achievement. Amy has also been named a Top-Rated Lawyer for 2020 by Avvo.
Amy Cohen is a partner at Cohen Law, A PLC, and specializes in trademark
and copyright registration and litigation, business transactions and litigation,
and general civil litigation. Before forming Cohen Law, she was an attorney
with Anker, Reed, Hymes, Schreiber & Cohen for six years and White,
Bordy and Levey, LLP in Century City prior to that.
Additionally, over the past 10 years, Amy has taught Civil Procedure, Entertainment
Law and Corporations Law as an adjunct professor at Cal State LA in the
Extended Studies Department for Paralegal Studies and has also taught
paralegal studies courses in Civil Procedure and Legal Writing at College
of the Canyons in Santa Clarita.
Amy received her Bachelor's degree in Management and International
Business from St. John Fisher College and her law degree from Pepperdine
University School of Law, along with a Certificate in Dispute Resolution
from Strauss Institute of Dispute Resolution (at Pepperdine.)
